i enjoyed reading the description of types of social capital. My intereset in social capital is linked with my community based work. In order to get a sense of what prevails, in one rural community i asked : Do you have friends ? Everybody said YES… and proceeded to say how many they have. (range was from 5 — 12). I then asked: would you go to your friend when you are upset, and go to him even in the middle of night. There was silence, and number of friends dropped to 2 or 3. I was impressed that they all had somebody they could trust. (this was not the case in another rural setting, where everybody said they had no one they could go to if they were worried). I want to take this forward and when have another data from such discussions perhaps use what type of social capital prevails
